Why Was Autoworld in Brussels Created?
Autoworld was created to show the history of the automobile and Belgium’s role in it.
The museum opened in 1986 inside the Parc du Cinquantenaire, in a large hall built for the 1880 National Exhibition.
Its collection started with cars from Belgian collectors who wanted to preserve rare models and share them with the public. Today, it holds over 300 vehicles, from early carriages to modern sports cars.
The goal is to educate visitors about how cars have shaped society, design, and technology over time.
How to Get to the Autoworld Museum in Brussels?
Address: Parc du Cinquantenaire 11, 1000 Bruxelles, België
Car: Underground parking at Cinquantenaire Park (Autoworld visitors get reduced rates). Street parking is limited.
By Foot: Located inside Parc du Cinquantenaire. Enter via Merode or Schuman side and walk 5–10 minutes.
Bus: Lines 22, 27, 61, 80 – stop at Merode.
Metro: Lines 1 & 5 – stop at Merode. 5-minute walk from station.
Tram: Tram 81 – stop at Merode or Montgomery.
